Recently capped Super Eagles of Nigeria defender, Emmanuel Fernandez, has won Rangers FC of Scotland’s Men’s Player of the Year award.
The Central Defender was announced winner for the 2025/26 season at the club’s awards gala on Sunday night.
He won the award following votes from fans, as the 24 years old claimed the biggest and final award of the night.
The former Peterborough defender won the award in his debut season for the Glasgow-based club.

Fernandez has been a bright spark in Rangers’ turbulent season, claiming five goals in 23 league matches, and was crucial to the club keeping 12 clean sheets so far this season.
He is also the third Rangers player to win a major club award for the third consecutive season.
Fernandez made his debut for Nigeria at the four-nation invitational friendly tournament in Turkey.
He has made two appearances, and scored one goal. He is already getting the attention of bigger European clubs, and will be expected to continue his Super Eagles journey in the 2026 Unity Cup set for May 26-30, in London.
