Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has approved the opening of a recruitment portal for the employment of 4,000 individuals into the state’s civil service. The recruitment drive, aimed at filling vacancies across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), will commence at midnight on Tuesday, April 29, and run through May 12, 2025.

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou, applicants are required to possess relevant qualifications and must present original copies of their credentials at the interview venue. Candidates who participated in the previously canceled interview are encouraged to reapply.

Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the quality of life for citizens, particularly the youth. He emphasized that job creation remains a top priority, ensuring that no one is left behind.

“This initiative is designed to uplift living standards, empower the younger generation, and drive sustainable economic growth and development,” the Governor stated.

On the other hand, the Adamawa State Civil Service Commission has also reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent, credible, and merit-based recruitment process, in line with Governor Fintiri’s directives.

In a statement, the Commission assured the public and prospective candidates of a level playing field throughout the recruitment exercise.

“We are committed to ensuring a fair and credible process for all applicants. This exercise is being conducted under the clear directive of His Excellency, Governor Fintiri, to uphold transparency and equal opportunity,” said the Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Mayiha.

According to the Commission, over 20,000 applications were received within the first 24 hours of the portal going live—demonstrating the high level of interest in the 4,000 available positions across various departments.

“The volume of applications prompted us to upgrade our systems to prevent technical glitches and ensure seamless access for all users,” Mayiha added.

The application window will remain open for two weeks. Successful candidates will be shortlisted for interviews and subsequent documentation in the coming weeks.

The Commission has urged all interested applicants to submit their applications early and avoid the last-minute rush.
