Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State says the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primaries held peacefully across the state on Saturday.
Speaking to newsmen after the election at the Jekadafari Ward, Governor Yahaya expressed satisfaction with the impressive turnout of party members and the orderly manner in which the exercise was conducted statewide.
He praised the election management committee and the party stakeholders for ensuring a transparent, peaceful and credible process that provided all aspirants with a level playing field.
“We are one big family, and there is no victor, no vanquished. As far as I am concerned, they are all APC members and I urge everyone to cooperate and unite for the success of our great party in the forthcoming general elections,” he appealed.

While emphasizing on the need for collective commitment towards sustaining the APC’s developmental strides in the state, the governor promised to continue to work together to deliver on the yearnings and aspirations of the people of the state.
Governor Yahaya also expressed delight at the maturity demonstrated by party members, noting that the peaceful embrace of democratic values was a positive sign for the future of the state and the party.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Primary Election Committee, Alhaji Labiru Musa Kafur, commended the state chapter of the party for upholding democratic ideals and strengthening internal party democracy.
“We are highly satisfied with the peaceful conduct and transparent process of the election,” he said.
Our correspondent reports that the direct primary election was conducted for Gombe/ Kwami/ Funakaye Federal Constituency between Hon. Sadam Bello Saleh and Alhaji Zakariyya Jidda; and for Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency, between incumbent member Ali Isa JC and Alfred John Attajiri.
