How Borno senator donated N135m cash to APC officials

Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan, an All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker from Borno State, has donated N135 million to executive members of the ruling party in his constituency.

The lawmaker said the monetary donation is meant for the celebration of the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir.

Usman Alkali, an aide to the lawmaker, confirmed the donation in a post on his Facebook wall.

Alkali said the gesture was the third in the series of donations of the lawmaker to the party officials.

“Distinguished senator representing Borno Central, Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan (SAN), on Thursday distributed cash to APC executives in his Borno Central constituency, totalling ₦135,650,000 as Sallah package to celebrate the Eid-Kabir festival.

“This is the third time the Senator has given such a donation since becoming a member of the National Assembly,” he said.

Lawan was the only one who obtained the governorship nomination form of the party aside from Mustapha Gubio, the anointed candidate of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.

He later withdrew, endorsed Gubio and settled for returning to the senate unopposed.
