A cross section of people seen at Tea Joints in Rijiyar zaki area of Ungogo Local Government Area said they will prefer to return to bed and sleep rather than waste their time voting in this local government elections.

Fahad Hassan told our reporter that the election “is just a charade being witnessed.”

“Rather than go [to vote], I will sleep in my bed,” he said.

Another person, Bashir Musa, said; “this is just another exercise to waste scarce resources.”

Similarly, when at 9:30am there was no election material and electoral officials at the Tudun Fulani Jamade 1 polling unit, voters started to return to their homes.

A man at the polling unit told our reporter that even the non-sensitive materials that were shared within the week were not yet at the polling unit.

He alleged that unlike all other elections, this time around, he won’t vote as “every one knows who the winner is, we are just waiting for the announcement.”
