Katsina State’s Deputy Governor, Faruk Lawal Jobe, has revealed that the current administration in the state has successfully created 35,903 jobs across various sectors.

During a high-level consultation on security and governance in Katsina on Sunday, Jobe emphasised the government’s commitment to jobs, infrastructure, education, agriculture and healthcare.

He said the jobs were created through the hiring of teachers, appointment of ward heads, and engagement of vigilantes, hunters, religious leaders, and members of the Community Watch Corps.

“Peacebuilding goes beyond just weapons; it’s about creating jobs, fostering inclusion, and engaging with the community,” he remarked.

The deputy governor also shared that the Urban Renewal Project, which spans Daura, Funtua and Katsina senatorial districts, has already invested N74.9 billion.

This funding has gone towards the 24-kilometre Eastern Bypass, eight dual carriage roads in Katsina, and significant reconstruction efforts in Daura and Funtua.
