A man, simply identified as Mr Favour, has inflicted injuries on a woman, Madam Precious Odiase, for allegedly insulting his mother at No 6, Ofure Street, Benin City, Edod State.
Speaking with our reporter, the victim, who denied insulting the attacker’s mother, said she was sitting in her house when the suspect pounced on her and beat her to a pulp.

She said, “I was surprised when he came to my house, accusing me of insulting his mother, because I didn’t insult her. As I told him that I didn’t insult his mother, he said he had been wanting to deal with me and that he would do it that day.
“Before I knew what was happening, he gave me a slap on the face and started blowing me all over. During the beating, I sustained injuries in my left eye and other parts and was rushed to the hospital where I spent days. I can’t even see clearly with it now.
“I reported the matter at the police station near St Saviour’s and they asked him to take me to the hospital and treat me. But the police have refused to charge him to court.”
Madam Precious, therefore, called on the state government and the police to come to her aid by bringing the man to justice and so that she didn’t go blind.
