A middle-aged man simply identified as Ilyiasu has been arrested by the operatives of the Edo State Security Corps (ESSC) over alleged killing of a commercial motorcycle operator in Edo State.
The incident reportedly happened in South Ibie community, Etsako West Local Government Area of the State.
The suspect, it was gathered, reportedly boarded the deceased motorcycle in South Ibie community to a destination but unknown to the cyclist that the suspect had uterior motive.
Source said while on the way, the suspect started struggling with the deceased in a bid to steal the motorcycle and in the process stabbed the deceased and took the motorcycle.

He said some residents who observed the development raised an alarm, which attracted the operatives of the Edo State Security Corps, who promptly apprehended the suspect while attempting to escape with the the motorcycle.
The suspect, in an interview with journalists, confessed to the crime, saying he killed the deceased to enable him steal his motorcycle.
He said, “I need money to feed my family, so I killed him in order to steal his motorcycle and be using it to work and get money,”
The Corps Deputy Commander, Richard Balogun, said the suspect was arrested on the spot and recovered the knife he used in carrying out the act.
He added that the suspect had been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
