The 2025 NOG Energy Week Golf Tournament came to a thrilling close on Sunday, June 29, at the picturesque TYB International Golf Resort, with Maureen Apute stealing the spotlight as the Overall Best Net Winner.
Apute carded a gross score of 82 with a handicap of 18, finishing with an outstanding net score of 64 to clinch the top prize. Her performance also earned her double honors in the auxiliary prize segment, where she won Longest Drive Ladies with a remarkable 222 meters and Nearest the Pin Ladies at 12 feet — making her the standout golfer of the tournament.
In the Men’s Category, Kareem Mumini emerged Best Net, beating Aletor Adoghe on countback after both finished with net scores of 65. Adoghe, who shot 75 gross with a 10 handicap, settled for the runner-up spot, while Ibinabo George finished as second runner-up with a net 67.
Isaiah Okonofua claimed Best Gross of the day with a superb round of 73.

In the Ladies Category, Maryam Julde-Adura edged out Judith Igwugwu on countback to win Best Net, both finishing with a net 68. Faith Ogenyi came third with a net 72.
The Veterans Category saw Emmanuel Oluoha post a net 74 to win Best Net, ahead of Mohammed Sanusi, who edged Tony Prest on countback with a net 85.
In the auxiliary prizes, Philip Kuma won Longest Drive Men with a 283-meter blast, while Ali Peters secured Nearest the Pin Men at just 5 feet.
