Mother of Jigawa senatorial candidate abducted

The mother of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Jigawa Central Senatorial District, Tijjani Ibrahim Gaya, has been abducted.

 The victim, Hajiya Jaja, 70, was said to have been picked up from her house in Kiyawa Local Government of the state by armed men who came in three vehicles.

 The spokesman of Jigawa State Police Command, DSP Lawan Adam, who confirmed the incident yesterday, told Daily Trust that the septuagenarian was abducted around midnight on Monday.

 He said the police were collaborating with other security agencies and the public for useful information.

However, no contact has been made with the family as of press time.
