Motorcyclist arrested with 3 human skulls in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Kadir Owolabi, a motorcyclist found to be in possession of three human skulls.

CSP Omolola Odutola, the command’s spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Tuesday. According to Odutola, the gruesome discovery was made on Monday at 2 pm during a routine stop-and-search operation.

He said operatives from the 71 PMF, Awa Ijebu, were conducting the operation on the Ijebu Ode-Ibadan Expressway at the Refugees Camp Junction in Oru Ijebu when they intercepted Owolabi.

According to him, a search of his luggage revealed the three human skulls.

Odutola added that a preliminary investigation led to the arrest of a second suspect, Jamiu Yisa (53), who was apprehended behind the Ijebu Ode Local Government Secretariat.

He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take over the case for further investigation.

The police command reaffirmed its commitment to taking decisive action against crime and urged residents to cooperate with them.

Odutola assured the public that their trust, confidentiality, and identity would be protected.
