A delegation from the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) has conducted an assessment visit to the Gusau International Airport, commending the level of development and facilities at the airport.
The visit, officials said, is part of efforts by Governor Dauda Lawal to strengthen institutional collaboration within the aviation sector and position the state as a player in aviation development.
The Permanent Secretary, Zamfara State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Haruna Dikko Gusau, accompanied the delegation on an inspection tour of the airport’s infrastructure and operational facilities.
Leader of the NCAT delegation, Nasir Muhammad Bungura, praised the airport’s management for what he described as impressive development, sound operational standards and ongoing improvements.

He said the infrastructure and installed facilities at the airport were promising and in line with aviation best practices.
Bungura also expressed satisfaction with the strategic potential of the airport to support aviation training programmes, enhance safety operations and promote regional air transport development.
According to him, the visit would further strengthen cooperation between NCAT and relevant authorities in Zamfara State in the area of aviation training and capacity building.
Officials noted that the assessment underscores the growing importance of Gusau International Airport in advancing aviation development in the state and contributing to the broader growth of Nigeria’s aviation industry.
The airport is also expected to serve as the departure point for this year’s intending pilgrims from the state, in addition to creating economic and employment opportunities as part of the state government’s efforts to unlock Zamfara’s economic potential.
