On Magama Gumau-Saminaka dilapidated highway

Recently, a motion was moved at the Bauchi State House of Assembly by Honourable Umar Muda Lawal representing  Toro seeking the immediate rehabilitation of Magama Gumau-Saminaka highway.

This is indeed a welcome development and worth giving serious attention.

We of the Toro Uplift and Magama Gumau Youth Awareness Multipurpose Co-operative Society are fully in support of the motion and hope the authorities will come to our aid.

The  Magama Gumau-Saminaka road has been in a  dilapidated condition for quite some time, resulting in ghastly accidents, robbery and kidnapping of commuters along the way daily.

The poor condition of the road has adversely affected the fortune of members of the communities who are largely farmers because they cannot move their produce to markets with ease. Other businesses are also affected.

The situation is so bad between Magama and Saminaka that commuters often prefer trekking to boarding a vehicle.  Many sections of this road have been washed away by flooding over years.

We therefore passionately appeal to the House to come to our aid. We believe the security and well-being of the citizens is one of the high points of its mandate.
