The police command in Delta State has apprehended two-armed robbery suspects and recovered an AK-47 rifle linked to them.
Spokesman for the command, SP Bright Edafe disclosed this to newsmen on Monday in Warri.
The police spokesman said that the suspects were nabbed by the police operatives attached to the Ekpan Division in Uvwie Local Government of the state.
He said that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ekpan Division, CSP Labe Joseph received credible information on the activities of the hoodlums from some community security guards while attempting to steal a car battery.
“The DPO led a police team to arrest one of the suspects.
“Following a confessional statement from the suspect, the police intensified its operations, leading to the arrest of another key suspect.
“During the follow-up operation, one AK-47 rifle concealed inside an isolated building within Ometan Community and linked to the syndicate was recovered,” Edafe said.
