The police in Kwara State have arrested a four-man gang for robbing one Alhaji Yahaya Ishaku, a cow seller in Oro-Ago, Ifeodun Local Government Area (LGA).
The suspects, Bello Baneri, Umaru Shehu, Awalu Umaru and Mamma Muhammed, are said to be notorious for robbing citizens of their money and goods on cattle market days in the community.

The police said their arrest followed intelligence that they were hibernating in the Fulani camp in Oro-Ago.
City & Crime learnt that one of the prime suspects, Mamman Mohammed, informed his gang members about the sale of cows by the victim and that they thereafter laid an ambush for him on his way back from the market.
Speaking on the arrest on Wednesday, police spokesperson in the state, Okaasanmi Ajayi, said the suspects were arrested in response to a distress call from the Miyetti Allah in Oro-Ago.
Ajayi said, “A team of policemen and members of Miyetti Allah of Oro-Ago went in search of the gang of armed robbers, whose stock-in-trade is robbing citizens in the area on market days.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the first suspect, Mamman Mohammed, was hired by the complainant to help him load his cows into a truck on his way to the market to sell them.”
Ajayi added that the victim, who was on a motorcycle returning to the camp after selling the cows, was blocked by the gang who hit him on the head with sticks and left him unconscious.
He further said, “He was searched by the assailants and the N600,000 proceeds of the sales found on him was stolen.’’
He said the suspects had confessed to the crime and that N400,000, part of the stolen money, was recovered, while effort was in progress to recover the balance.”
