The Kano State Police Command has recovered seven stolen vehicles and arrested several suspects in a series of coordinated operations targeting car theft and armed robbery across the state.
In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the Command’s Special Intervention Squad (SIS), acting on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, conducted intensive operations that led to the breakthroughs.
Among the recovered vehicles are an ash-coloured Toyota RAV4, a red Peugeot 406, a black Toyota Corolla, a Toyota Yaris with registration number Gombe 121 AH, a truck without a body, a white Toyota Matrix, and a white Forland truck with registration number GAK 701 XA.
Kiyawa said several suspects connected to the thefts, including individuals involved in armed robbery have been arrested and are currently assisting investigators.

He added that all those found culpable will be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
The Commissioner of Police commended the officers involved in the operations for their professionalism and dedication, noting that the achievement was a reflection the Command’s renewed effort to curb vehicle theft and other criminal activities in the state.
CP Bakori also expressed appreciation to residents of Kano for their “prayers, support, encouragement, and cooperation,” assuring that the Command will continue to intensify efforts to protect lives and property.
The Police Command urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue to support security agencies with timely information to help sustain peace and security across the state.
The recovered vehicles are currently in police custody pending identification and claim by their rightful owners.
