President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to accelerating Nigeria’s development through technology and food security, drawing lessons from Brazil’s success story.

Speaking during an interactive session with Nigerians in Brazil, Tinubu stressed that his administration is focused on transformation through innovation, reform, and inclusive growth.

“We must bring Nigeria to the forefront of Africa’s progress, driven by technology, food sovereignty, and the courage to change our destiny,” he said.

The president described his visit to Brazil as strategic, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and learning from the South American country’s remarkable progress.

He recalled that both nations once shared similar economic starting points but Brazil has since advanced in food systems and technology.

He commended the Nigerian diaspora in Brazil, describing them as vital partners in national development.

Acknowledging the hardship caused by current economic reforms, Tinubu likened them to “bitter medicine” necessary for long-term stability.

Earlier, Chairman of the Nigerian community in Brazil, Chika Emmanuel, praised Tinubu for strengthening bilateral ties and pledged the diaspora’s active support, noting the growing number of Nigerian scholars in Brazil.

Meanwhile, Tinubu has departed Brasília for Abuja after a state visit that produced five agreements in aviation, agriculture, technology, and foreign affairs.
