The chairman of Kaduna Polytechnic Governing Council, Senator Muhammed Muhammed, has said the council under his watch would run an open-door policy.
Speaking on the state of the institution, the chairman said the interaction was as a result of his earlier promise during his maiden meeting with the staff and the management board to carry everyone along.

Orochi Samuel, Deputy Registrar, Information & Protocol, in a statement quoted the chairman to have explained that the Polytechnic’s congregation had a fruitful interaction on the best way to move the institution forward.
Senator Muhammed, who used the opportunity to highlight some of the achievements recorded by the council, enjoined the staff to feel free to express their opinions, observations or suggestions that would assist the council in carrying out its activities in the best interest of the polytechnic and Nigeria.
“Nobody can do it alone, and no single individual knows it all, and that advice is not to be taken for granted,” he said.
Also speaking, the Rector of Kaduna Polytechnic, Dr Suleiman Umar, commended the chairman and members of the governing council for organising the interactive session and the many laudable achievements recorded within the short period of the commencement of its activities.
He said several staff members that bore their minds during the interaction session commended the council for operating a transparent regime and urged them to continue in that line.
Suggestions on the best way to move the Polytechnic to a higher level were advanced by the staff and the council noted the same for further necessary action.
The highlight of the occasion was the election of Alh. Ahmad Abdulsalam as the representative of the congregation, representing the non-teaching staff on the governing council in line with the Federal Polytechnic (Amendment) Act, 2019, following the death of the former occupant, Alh. Abdullahi Sule Ahmadu, who died on May 5, 2022.
