City & Crime learnt that the assailants chased him into the college before shooting him and ensured he was dead before they left.

A lecturer in the college said, “It was around 4pm and they operated without any mask or covering. The deceased initially ran into the midst of students in a place called Hall 10. He thought they had left and so came out and was further chased and killed in front of the mathematics department. They fired four shots at him but it was the last one that hit him.

“Hitherto, they (cultists) had terrorised the college for three days which caused many students and staff to be absent from school for fear of stray bullets.”

The spokesman of the college, Mr Yomi, who also confirmed the incident, said they had no record that the deceased was their student, adding that he was chased into the college premises.

The police spokesman in the state, Okasanmi Ayayi, confirmed the incident via telephone, adding that, “We are investigating; no arrest has been made yet.”
