Alfred John Attajiri, an aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency of Gombe State, has rejected the result of the direct primary election conducted on Saturday.
In a statement issued to newsmen, Attajiri described the results announced by the returning officer as both shocking and unacceptable, insisting that the election was never conducted.
He said, “Across Balanga and Billiri LGAs, there is overwhelming evidence in the form of videos, photographs, eyewitness accounts, and reports showing clearly that no valid electoral exercise took place before results were declared.
“This development is not only an insult to the democratic rights of party members and delegates, but also a dangerous precedent capable of destroying the confidence and credibility APC has built over the years.”

While affirming his loyalty and dedication to the party, Attajiri warned that if injustice is allowed to thrive openly, Nigerians will lose hope of credible election in 2027.
He, therefore, appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the National Chairman of APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, to urgently intervene, “in order to restore hope, justice, and renewed confidence in the party as a truly democratic institution.
“Silence in the face of this situation will only embolden impunity and weaken the faith of ordinary party members who believe in fairness, due process, and equal opportunity,” he added.
He further urged his supporters to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding, adding that he is confident that truth will prevail and that the voices of the people cannot be permanently silenced.
