The Paramount Ruler of the Tiv nation, Prof. James Ayatse, on Wednesday, condemned the killing of security personnel in the Mberev community of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, Benue State.
Ayatse also demanded the immediate arrest of the killers of the 11 security personnel whose bodies were recovered on Sunday night.
The personnel were attacked by armed invaders while carrying out clearance operations in the Agu Centre general area bordering Benue and Taraba states.
The monarch, in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media and ICT, Freddie Adamgbe, described the attack as “heinous and capable of undermining ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability in Sankera and the entire state.”

He urged security agencies and relevant authorities to take immediate and decisive action to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice, warning that failure to do so could embolden others to carry out similar attacks.
